After completing post-doctoral studies in behavioral genetics as a National Science Foundation Fellow at NYS Psychiatric Institute, Dr. Witkin joined the Icahn School of Medicine where she is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences.

As the Director of Psychological and Wellness Services, Dr. Witkin oversees the support and counseling services provided to patients diagnosed with infertility as well as individuals hoping to donate their eggs. Additionally, Dr. Witkin plays an integral role in the training and education of staff and reproductive endocrinology and infertility fellows and contributes her expertise to a significant number of research studies.

As the Director of Patient Services Development for Progyny, Inc. (Fertility Benefits), Dr. Witkin coaches all patient-care advocates, hosts the video series, Expert Interview Series, and created an online, science-based Happify experience using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness principles. She also contributes to the marketing and sales team, writes a column for Psychology Today, and provides in-house stress relief workshops and emotional support.

Dr. Witkin supervises and teaches medical residents and nurses and maintains a private practice focusing on stress, relationship issues, and infertility. She uses both CBT and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) which can effectively be delivered to patients through teletherapy. Dr. Witkin is a New York State licensed clinical psychologist, an Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine, and a life-member of the American Psychological Association.
